BD3500FVM-TR is a high-efficiency, cost-effective and wide input voltage range linear regulator controller manufactured by Osaka Semiconductor, Inc. It is a three-terminal asynchronous step-down switching regulator controller which provides a single output voltage of 5V, 8V or 10V.Application Areas
BD3500FVM-TR is widely used in Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) applications, such as voltage regulation, battery charging and other power management functions. Due to its low power consumption, it is ideal for battery operated applications such as portable mobile devices, industrial PLCs, point-of- sale systems, medical instruments and wearable devices, etc.Due to its high efficiency, BD3500FVM-TR is also used in automotive applications such as airbag controllers, engine control modules and ABS systems, and consumer applications such as digital cameras and digital video cameras.Working Principle
The BD3500FVM-TR operates using a synchronous step-down switching system to generate the output voltage. It features a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 36V, and is capable of providing an output current up to 2.7A. Its switching frequency ranges from 200KHz to 700KHz and it can be adjusted by a frequency selection resistor.The operating principle of BD3500FVM-TR is based on pulse width modulation (PWM) control. The output voltage is regulated by changing the width of the PWM pulses. The input voltage is sensed using a voltage divider and the reference voltage is compared with the feedback voltage normalized to 0.8V. The error amplifier regulates the PWM duty cycle with respect to the reference voltage.Features
