Working Principle

The BD6360GUL-E2 integrates two high-efficiency power MOSFETs and offers a drive capability of up to 15A peak and a two-step current peak detection. It is a three-phase bidirectional power converter offering a variety of functions including an internal current sense resistor and overvoltage protection for unbalanced voltage inputs. The device has a fast over-current and short circuit protection as well as over-voltage protection. The control logic is designed to detect input voltage and output current, select appropriate phase switching sequence, and adjust the voltage gains. The BD6360GUL-E2 also supports manual phase shifting and ultrasonic detection.

In order to protect against over-current or short-circuit conditions, the BD6360GUL-E2 is designed with an internal Current Frequency Response (CFR) function that automatically adjusts the Gate drive time and current gain, which ensures the system remains safe even in the event of an overload condition. The CFR function also reduces heat generation due to the decreased turn-on time of the MOSFETs during low voltage, high power operation. The BD6360GUL-E2 also offers a variety of other protection functions, such as over-voltage protection for unbalanced voltage inputs and thermal shutdown for over temperature condition.
