Snap Action, Limit Switches

The BE-2R switch is a type of electro-mechanical snap action limit switch, that is used to sense physical movement. It is widely used for sensing the location of an object in a process stream or linear motion. The switch has a rectangular base, and an actuator, which is connected via a pivot wall to the arm of the switch, allowing it to move in a direction parallel to either the floor or ceiling.

The action of the switch is operated by an electrical current that flows through a series of contacts, allowing an actuator arm to move up or down, depending on the position of the switch. When the actuator arm is in the correct position, it will cause the switch to close. When the actuator arm reaches the limit position, the switch will open and the current will turn off, preventing further movement.

When the BE-2R switch is actuated, the actuator arms makes contact with a contact plate that is located inside the switch, and this contact plate acts as an electrical circuit breaker, preventing further current from flowing. As a result, the switch is able to detect the position of the object being moved. The switch can be used for applications such as: gate detection, level detection, door locking/unlocking, and as a limit switch on automated production lines.
