The BMF055-SHUTL (solar horizontal tracking unit) is an innovative evaluation board that serves as a standalone solution for applications requiring solar radiation detection with precise tracking of the sun\'s horizon and altitude. With its integrated technology, the board is made to accurately determine the location and orientation of the sun in real-time, and then intelligently adjust both the horizonal and vertical axes at the optimum angle, in order to maximize solar irradiance. Additionally, the BMF055-SHUTL is capable of switching automatically between tracking and standby modes based on the availability of sunlight.

The BMF055-SHUTL is an advanced solar tracking system comprised of three components: a sensing unit, a controller module, and an actuator assembly. The sensing unit includes an optical filter and two precision sensors, which are used to determine the ambient light levels, and are able to detect days with no-light, heavily-overcast skies, or diffuse clouds. Its two SMA connectors provide the user with the option of connecting two external solar receivers or panels, enabling the board to track the sun even in climates where direct sunlight is limited. It also features two independent digital signal I/O pins for reliable operations and a touch sensor for gesture control. Moreover, the board boasts a wide input voltage range of 4 – 32V DC, making it an ideal choice for applications with higher voltages.
