Clock/Timing - Real Time Clocks is a widely used application field and understanding the working principle of BQ32000D, which is a real time clock chip by Texas Instruments, could further increase its use.

In its simplest form, a realtime clock is an electronic device that measures the amount of time since it was last reset. This is accomplished by counting the number of oscillations of an electronic circuit.
