The BQ76930EVM evaluation module is a comprehensive, cost- effective kit for developing battery stack management and monitoring systems. It provides evaluation and demonstration boards and kits to enable users to assess features and performance of the BQ76930 device. The EVM is a hardware-based platform for development and testing, allowing battery pack designers to evaluate the BQ76930 IC in their own application.
The BQ76930EVM board houses a complete evaluation kit which includes a BQ76930 integrated circuit, four battery voltage sense channels, four port temperature sense channels, two current measurement channels, various jumpers and switches to configure the functional states and access various features of the device, as well as comprehensive printed documentation. The board also includes a variety of other peripheral devices, including I2C, USB, GPIO, and PWM, providing flexibility when developing and testing applications.
The BQ76930EVM platform is designed to simplify the evaluation of the IC and to provide a platform with which the user can evaluate the different performances and features available. The evaluation module can be quickly assembled and provides a comprehensive suite of functions with which to develop and evaluate systems with features such as cell balancing, over-voltage and over-temperature protection, short circuit protection, and cell equalization. The EVM is powered by a 12V power supply and the various cells can be externally connected and tested with the board.
In addition to the evaluation of the BQ76930 IC, the BQ76930EVM evaluation module can be used to design and test custom battery stack management systems. It is a useful development platform for battery stack applications, providing an easy platform to test and evaluate custom protocols.
