Application Field

Architecture

The BU4235G-TR integrates three system-level functions: a step-up DC-DC converter (regulator), a linear regulator, and a voltage supervisor.The step-up DC-DC converter produces an output voltage (VOUT) between 3.3V and 5.0V, with a minimum output current of 25mA and a maximum output current of 120mA.The linear regulator produces an output voltage (VREF) between 2.5V and 5.0V, with a fixed output current of 8mA.The voltage supervisor monitors an input voltage (VIN) to detect overvoltage and overcurrent conditions. It also includes an output control signal to turn off the linear regulator, and reset control to reset the BU4235G-TR when an overvoltage or overcurrent condition occurs.

Working Principle

When power is applied to the BU4235G-TR, the voltage supervisor will detect the input voltage (VIN) and compare it to a predetermined value. If the input voltage is within the acceptable range, the voltage supervisor will output a control signal to enable the linear regulator and produce a stable output voltage (VREF) of 2.5V to 5.0V, with a current limit of 8mA.Once VREF has been established, the linear regulator output will enable the step-up DC-DC converter, which will produce an output voltage (VOUT) between 3.3V and 5.0V with a minimum output current of 25mA and a maximum output current of 120mA.If the voltage supervisor detects an overvoltage or overcurrent condition at the input voltage, it will output a control signal that will disable the linear regulator, thus preventing any potential damage to the rest of the system. Additionally, reset control will be triggered, resetting the BU4235G-TR and allowing it to be safely powered up again.
