Application of BU4327F-TR
BU4327F-TR is a microcontroller power supply voltage supervisor (MVSS) which can be used for a variety of microcontroller system applications. Typically, MVSS works in supply voltage monitoring and voltage adjustment applications. With BU4327F-TR, the voltage limiting voltage range and reset voltage respectively can be set from 0.65V to 4.65V, and 0.8V to 5.2V. BU4327F-TR is available in two packages: a 5-pin UDFN (2 x 2 mm) package and a 5-pin SOT-25 package. Both packages demonstrate low power consumption, small size, and built-in reverse current protection. In addition, BU4327F-TR features a power-down input (PD) pin, which enables the device to switch to power-down mode. The supply current is reduced to 0.2 µA (typ.). Working Principle
The BU4327F-TR monitors the output voltage of the power supply and compares it to the set value. If the voltage is lower than the set value, the device triggers a reset signal. This reset signal can be used to reset the CPU or restart the circuit system.
BU4327F-TR adopts an auto-reset release time setting circuit. After the reset signal is triggered, the auto-reset release time is started. If the voltage value is returned to a valid level prior to completion of the auto-reset release time, the reset signal is released. This helps the circuit system to be restored to an operational state faster. In addition, BU4327F-TR is designed with thermal protection to help the monitoring circuit prevent damage caused by overheat.
BU4327F-TR uses a sigma-delta A/D converter to monitor the power supply voltage. In this process, a comparator checks the operating state of the power supply voltage relative to the pre-set voltage. If the power supply voltage drops below the pre-set voltage, the comparator will give out a reset signal. Furthermore, the monitor circuit implements pre-charging and the power-on delay time to prevent mis-triggering.
