Data Acquisition - Analog Front End (AFE)
The BU6577FV-E2 is a highly integrated single chip system-on-a-chip (SoC) designed for data acquisition in the analog front-end (AFE) applications. It can work efficiently as both a receive (Rx) path solution as well as a transmit (Tx) path solution. The BU6577FV-E2 features a general-purpose analog-to-digital converter (ADC), an integrated programmable gain amplifier (PGA), and an integrated digital-to-analog converter (DAC). By combining with the high-performance low-power controller core, an embedded microcontroller and other logic resources, the chip is optimized for low-power data acquisition.
The BU6577FV-E2 is ideally suited for sensor data acquisition from a variety of sources including thermopiles, Hall effect sensors, image sensors, microphones, ultrasonic range finders, as well as bridge sensors such as strain gauges, load cells, and pressure sensors. The chip\'s on-chip programmable gain amplifier (PGA) allows it to adjust the input signal level to a range most suitable for the on-chip ADC. The integrated DAC allows the BU6577FV-E2 to be used in a system to control and monitor external devices.
The BU6577FV-E2 is operated by an 8051-compatible microcontroller and a set of digital logic to complete the AFE system. The chip provides flexible and efficient data acquisition, allowing the user to collect data from multiple sources without consuming any additional power. The chip integrates many of the required voltage regulators and other necessary power-supply blocks. The integrated low-dropout voltage regulator (LDO) can provide stable operation at a wide range of input voltages (1.1V ~ 4.5V) with improved power conversion efficiency, thus reducing the power consumption of the whole system.
