BU9873NUX-TTR, is a low power high performance clock/timing IC produced by RENESAS SEMICONDUCTOR. It can operate in either SPI or I2C formats and uses an integrated Real Time Clock (RTC) and counter timer circuit. It is an all-in-one solution for applications that require both clock and timing functions. The BU9873NUX-TTR\'s clock/timing circuit is based on two 32-bit counters and one 16-bit prescaler. The 32-bit counters can be used to drive a variety of clock and timing functions such as time-of-day, time-of-week, time-of-month, pulse width-modulation (PWM) and pulse-code-modulation (PCM). The 16-bit prescaler can be used to divide the clock frequency by a factor of up to 65536, resulting in better precision than would be possible with a single 32-bit counter. The counters can be used both to drive clock outputs, such as time-of-day and time-of-week, and to measure the time interval between two or more events.The BU9873NUX-TTR also has two built-in registers for input control, which can be programmed to enable or disable the counter/timer section, allowing for a higher level of control over the chip\'s operations. This makes it possible to use the BU9873NUX-TTR in applications that require multiple processes to be executed at predictable times. The chip also has a power-down control register, which can be used to put the chip into a low power state when not in use, thereby conserving power.The main application field of the BU9873NUX-TTR is in embedded systems and industrial automation.
