The supervisor provides two integrated voltage detection circuits (VDs) for monitoring the system voltage level. The main voltage detector (VD1) allows the user to set the voltage trip point and reset delay. If the voltage falls below the set trip point, the supervisor will raise the reset pin, initiating a power-down sequence. The secondary voltage detector (VD2) allows the user to set another, separate trip point and reset delay, to use in specific applications such as monitoring system temperature.

The CAT1022WI-25-GT3 also features an on-chip watchdog timer and reset delay adjuster. The watchdog timer is used to monitor system operation to ensure that the application is properly executing. If the timer expires, the supervisor will reset the system. The reset delay adjuster allows the user to set the delay time before resetting the system, to allow proper system startup.
