It also provides a general reset and support for back-up batteries in the same system.

CAT1026ZI-45-GT3 Working Principle

The CAT1026ZI-45-GT3 monitors up to three voltage supply levels: Vcc, battery, and reset. When the supply voltage(s) falls below the under/overvoltage thresholds, an interrupt is generated and the device ensures a proper reset is asserted. If a reset sequence is not performed within the pre-programmed delay period, the device will assert a reset to ensure the system is properly powered on. The device provides one PGMIN output to monitor the Backup Battery voltage. This output is either held low or set high based on the Backup Battery voltage value relative to the PGMIN threshold setting.The pass-thru features and reset sequence of the CAT1026ZI-45-GT3 helps ensure that the system has entered a known state at power on and that any errors encountered during operation can be blamed on the application. The CAT1026ZI-45-GT3 provides logic to detect low, over and undervoltage conditions, and notify the user through the PGMIN pin.
