The CAT3637AEVB is an LED driver evaluation board for evaluating and demonstrating the performance of a high-efficiency, AC and DC regulated LED driver ICs. The CAT3637AEVB is a low-cost and versatile evaluation board that provides a simple and concise platform for easily evaluating, testing and demonstrating the performance of the CAT3637A LED driver IC when used in a variety of LED illumination products and applications. The evaluation board’s power input range is 7V – 24V and is designed primarily for testing and evaluation purposes in a lab environment.

The CAT3637AEVB utilizes the advanced AC and DC regulated architecture of the CAT3637A to enable minimizing of power losses in a wide range of supply voltage ranging from 7V to 24V while providing superior bright white light output by drawing of minimal amount of power. The CAT3637A is a low-cost and integrated step-down LED driver optimized for driving a wide-range of high-brightness LEDs from either a DC or AC source. The advanced AC and DC regulated architecture dynamically adjusts the output to maintain constant-current drive for the LEDs for efficient lighting. It also employs fast-internal loop control algorithms for minimal power-loss and high peak efficiency resulting in highly efficient and reliable operation.

The CAT3637AEVB supports a maximum current rating of 350mA with a minimum/maximum voltage drop of 0.7V to 3V for the LEDs. It also has an internal linear regulation for maximized efficiency and minimal power dissipation. Additional features of this EVB include a full-wave bridge rectifier, dual-output terminals (both positive and negative) and selectable series- or parallel-operation modes allowing flexibility in the output level configuration.

The CAT3637AEVB utilizes the advanced AC and DC regulated architecture of the CAT3637A LED driver to dynamically adjusts the output to efficiently maintain constant-current drive for the LEDs even in a wide range of supply voltage ranging from 7V to 24V. It also features a reduced switching frequency operation as low as 130KHz and full-wave bridge rectifier. With its simple, yet robust design, the board allows for easy testing and demonstration of the performance of the CAT3637A in a variety of LED lighting applications.

To facilitate easy evaluation and testing, the CAT3637AEVB evaluation board includes two user-selectable jumper settings. The first jumper allows for the selection of the LED output voltage range from 0.7V to 3V, while the second jumper enables the selection of either series- or parallel-operation modes. This feature makes the board highly flexible in configuration for different LED lighting applications.

In addition, the CAT3637AEVB evaluation board also includes a PWM control input feature which allows the LEDs to be dimmed. The board is also capable of providing outstanding performance in wide temperature range from -35C to 85C and is designed to work within a wide operating temperature range of -40C to 120C.

Overall, the CAT3637AEVB evaluation board is an ideal platform for evaluating and demonstrating the performance of a high-efficiency, AC and DC regulated LED driver IC.
