Application Field of CC80 Fuse

The CC80 fuse find widespread application in electrical circuits of residential, industrial as well as commercial buildings. Working Principle

The CC80 short circuit protective fuse works based on a thermal-magnetic protection system that includes a combination of a magnetic element and a thermal-sensitive element. The magnetic element consists of an iron core and an electromagnetic coil assembly. When the current running through the fuse exceeds the rated value of the normal operating current, the magnetic element responds to the increased current by producing a magnetic field. This magnetic field reduces the current flowing through the fuse by magnetically reduce the size of the coil and the amperage in turn tends to decrease. At the same time the thermal-sensitive element starts to heat and when it reaches its breaking point it cuts off the current flow in the fuse.To be more precise, the thermal-sensitive element is a wire which consists of the inner core of Thermolock- alloys and an external covering of special fibre glass. When the over-current induces a high temperature in the wire, the melting process of the wire begins and the fibre glass melts and firmly sticks to the core making an insulating layer. This layer completely blocks the already existing path in which the current was flowing which leads to opening of the circuit and hence provides protection.
