Logic – Specialty Logic (CD4527BE Application Field and Working Principle)
CD4527BE is a dual low-power dual retriggerable monostable multivibrator, or referred to as one-shot, or delay line. It is designed using Schottky circuits to reduce turn-on time and to minimize input currents while maintaining low power dissipation and minimum propagation delays. It is available in various packages and temperature ranges.
The CD4527BE has two independent sections, each of which can be triggered by either positive- or negative-going narrow pulses. A logic “1” level at the manual trigger input can also provide triggering. After triggering, the output(s) remains at a logic high for the duration of either the externally supplied retrigger delays or the internally generated timeout delays. After the last trigger pulse has expired, the output reverts to the “L” state.
The CD4527BE has separate external RC elements for each trigger pulse, which determines the time period for which the output will remain at the high state. The appropriate RC time constants must be chosen for each particular application. The CD4527BE also incorporates a manual reset feature, which allows the external reset line to control the output reset.
