The working principle of the CD7FD181FO3 capacitor is based on the principle of electrostatic induction. Here, electric fields form between metal plates of opposite polarity and a dielectric material (mica in this instance) is placed between the plates. Electric charges accumulate on the surface of the dielectric, giving it a capacitance. As the charges accumulate, an electric current is established between the plates. This current is proportional to the voltage difference between the two plates. The current is dependent upon the capacitance of the capacitor, as well as the size of the plates and the distance between them.
