Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits evaluate and demonstrate electronic properties of components. The CDK2000-CLK/KIT2 board is one of them. It evaluates and demonstrates an embedded system platform’s electrical characteristics, such as signal switching speed, signal signal generation and measurement, and signal counting ability.
CDK2000-CLK/KIT2 is a signal switching and signal measurement embedded system platform board. It is a versatile, high performance and modular board for different application verticals. It is fully embedded with signal switching and measuring devices including a high speed analog signal switch and a high speed digital signal switch. This board also comes with a wide set of peripheral I/O including programmable LCD displays, LED indicators and 18-pin DIP sockets for signal value measurements.
The CDK2000-CLK/KIT2 is based on Freescale’s QorIQ™ T2080 processor and a Freescale Enhanced System Bus controller. It is equipped with 512KB of SDRAM and 4MB NOR flash memory. Furthermore, this board has one Soft-Convertible interface, two High-Speed Serial Links with eight channels. The signal switching and signal measurement functions of this board are fully integrated in the peripheral I/O.
The signal switching ability of the CDK2000-CLK/KIT2 board is designed to quickly switch input signals between one of the two High-Speed Serial Links, each of which has eight channels. This is done by using the on board 10-bit digitizing and Analog to Digital Converter. Furthermore, it can switch signal input from the two High-Speed Serial Links to the Memory port. This allows the board to switch signals between its two High-Speed Serial Links and the Memory port
The signal measurement ability of the CDK2000-CLK/KIT2 board is designed to measure the input signal over its 1 channel analog input and its 8 channel digital input. The signal measurement is achieved by utilizing a 10-bit ADC and a Digital-to-Analog conversion engine inside the board. This allows the board to measure input signals over its 1 channel analog input and its 8 channels digital input.
The signal counter ability of the CDK2000-CLK/KIT2 board is designed to measure input signal count. The signal counter is achieved by utilizing KIT2’s Signal Counter Engine. The board’s signal counter provides five different measurement modes with four different resolution values. The signal counter engine is capable of measuring up to two thousand signals.
This board has various working modes that are implemented for different applications. These various working modes are implemented to measure various signal characteristics. These working modes include a loop mode, a loopback mode, a time measurement mode, a real-time mode, and a signal recognition mode. In each of these working modes, the board is able to code and decode signals and provide an accurate measurement of signal characteristics.
