Fixed Inductors are among the most common type of inductors used in electrical and electronic circuits. The CKP2012N2R2M-T is a DC-biased fixed inductor designed specifically for application in space constrained applications. The CKP2012N2R2M-T is a high-performance inductor with excellent DC self-inductance characteristics, which increases the efficiency of powering loads in a reduced package size.

The CKP2012N2R2M-T is designed for operation from DC to a maximum frequency of 1.0GHz. It can operate at temperatures ranging from -20°C to 150°C. This design allows the inductor to be used in high-temperature applications such as LED lights and automotive, medical and industrial applications.

The chassis of the CKP2012N2R2M-T is constructed from a mix of ferromagnetic and non-magnetic materials. The ferromagnetic component of the chassis ensures excellent mechanical and electrical reliability when the inductor is exposed to vibration and shock (<100G). The non-magnetic component of the chassis reduces the eddy currents losses, thus increasing efficiency.

The CKP2012N2R2M-T features a new generation of wound component surface profile technology resulting in a high effective permeability. This specialized winding technology provides the inductor with a very high self-resonant frequency (SRF). The CKP2012N2R2M-T has an SRF of up to 6GHz, making it suitable for high frequency applications.

The working principle of a fixed inductor is actually very simple. When a voltage is applied to an inductor, it creates a magnetic field. This magnetic field then induces a current in the inductor coil. Further, the current in the coil generates an opposite magnetic field, which opposes the original field created by the voltage.

This opposition between the two magnetic fields causes the coil to become “charged” with an opposing amount of energy. This energy is stored in the coil in the form of electromagnetic radiation until a change in the current is detected. When the current changes, the opposingenergy in the coil is released.

The CKP2012N2R2M-T is designed for use in applications requiring reliable DC current, such as power converters, DC-DC interactions, and voltage-controlled resistors. Due to its small physical size, the CKP2012N2R2M-T can also be used for applications with limited space requirements, such as high frequency radio systems. In either case, the CKP2012N2R2M-T provides a reliable and efficient alternative to traditional fixed inductors.
