CM521213 Application Field and Working Principle


The CM521213 module is a Thyristors modulated 4-Quadrant SCR Motor Controller. A Thyristor is a form of semiconductor device commonly used in low-power motor control applications. The SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) is what controls a motor by turning off or on the electricity supply, allowing the motor to run at a predetermined speed. The Modules are designed to control a motor in four (4) quadrants through the use of a variety of voltages, currents and frequencies. Additionally, they can control a motor with a precision of up to 5x steps.
This motor control module utilizes an SCR to control a motor in the four (4) quadrants. The SCR is controllable with a voltage of up to 400V and a current up to 10A. To regulate the motor speed, the SCR acts as a two-quadrant, three-quadrant or four-quadrant speed controller. To control the voltage and current, the SCR acts as a universal two-quadrant voltage source, a three-quadrant voltage source and a four-quadrant voltage source. Additionally, the SCR controlling the motor can be changed from a two-quadrant, three-quadrant and four-quadrant using the voltage and current controlling module, the CM521122.
The CM521122 module acts as a voltage and current controlling module that allows a motor speed to be set and controlled within the four (4) quadrants. The module also provides a wide range of motor control combinations such as adjustable motor acceleration, deceleration and reverse. A variety of speed control solutions are provided, including Closed Loop, Open Loop, Response Control and Phase Shifting. Additionally, the module can be used to adjust voltage or frequency of up to 400V and 0-20kHz. The Output of the control module can be set to On (1) or Off (0), allowing for simple on/off motor control solutions.
The timing of the motor control can be adjusted through the function of the CM521213 module. This is achieved by varying the static and dynamic timing settings for the SCR controlling the motor speed. This allows for precision control of the motor speed, as the settings can be adjusted for different voltages and frequencies.
