CMV4000-2E5M1LP is a high speed, two-tailed CMOS camera sensor from e2v that is designed for machine vision applications. The CMV4000-2E5M1LP uses “vertical-intersection” readout architecture to achieve a maximum frame rate of 60 fps in full resolution mode. In HR mode, the sensor is capable of capturing an 8-bit image with 4096 horizontal pixels and 2128 vertical pixels. In LR mode, it can capture a 10-bit image with 2048 horizontal pixels and 2128 vertical pixels.

The CMV4000-2E5M1LP features what is known as a global shutter. This technology allows the sensor to simultaneously capture all of the light that is projected onto the image plane, regardless of the exposure time. This improves the sensor’s ability to capture sharp images without blurring. It also provides improved motion blur for capturing fast moving objects.

The CMV4000-2E5M1LP is also designed for low noise operation. It has a low readout noise of <6 electrons rms and low dark current of 210 electrons/sec below 7°C. The sensor has excellent well capacity of 32 Ke- and a dynamic range of 75 dB. In addition, it supports extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for use in extreme environments.
