Thermal - Thermoelectric, Peltier Modules - CP1.0-7-05L Application Field and Working PrincipleThermoelectric, Peltier Modules are widely employed in many applications due to their ability to cool and heat surfaces. CP1.0-7-05L is one such thermoelectric module, composed of two ceramic plates and two electrodes between them. It is used mainly for temperature controlling within an enclosure.The CP1.0-7-05L is designed to control the temperature within a range of -30°C to +90°C. It provides thermal stability and efficient heat transfer in devices for small temperature-sensitive objects, including medical instruments and chemical reactions. The CP1.0-7-05L can also serve as an ideal temperature stabilizer for infrared detection equipment.The CP1.0-7-05L works on the principle of the Peltier Effect. This effect states that when current is passed through two metals or two semiconductors connected in a closed circuit, heat will be absorbed by the junction of these two materials. This process is referred to as “thermal pumping”.The heat-transferring properties of CP1.0-7-05L are due to its two ceramic plates, which together form a sandwich. One plate has a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) and the other has a negative temperature coefficient (NTC). The current passing through the plates creates a temperature gradient between the PTC and NTC plates, with temperatures increasing on the PTC plate and decreasing on the NTC plate. This allows for efficient cooling and heating.In order to keep the temperature within the desired range, the device must be connected to a control circuit. The control circuit is responsible for regulating the current that passes through the CP1.0-7-05L and thus, the temperature it maintains. When the temperature rises above the set point, the current is increased and the NTC plate cools down until it reaches the desired temperature. Similarly, when the temperature drops below the set point, the current is decreased and the PTC plate warms until it reaches the desired temperature.The CP1.0-7-05L can be used in numerous applications. One example of its use is in temperature-regulated glove boxes. Here, the CP1.0-7-05L is used to maintain the temperature within the glove box at a constant level. This is necessary in order to prevent the growth and reproduction of certain dangerous bacteria.In addition to regulating temperature inside enclosures, the CP1.0-7-05L can also be used to heat or cool objects. Here, the device is placed on the object, with the NTC facing the surface of the object. As current passes through the CP1.0-7-05L, the heat is absorbed by the NTC plate and transferred to the object, thus cooling it. Conversely, when the current is reversed, the NTC plate absorbs the heat from the surface of the object and transfers it back to the PTC plate, thus heating it.The CP1.0-7-05L thermoelectric module is a versatile device that can be used for a variety of temperature control tasks. The Peltier Effect gives it the ability to both cool and heat objects with tremendous precision and efficiency. Its compact size makes it a perfect fit for small enclosures and makes installation and wiring much easier.
