When enabled in the current regulation mode, the CPC9909NE operates as a digitally controlled boost or buck-boost regulator ensuring highly efficient operation even with very low input voltage source.

Workings Principles

The working principle of the CPC9909NE depends on the selected mode of operation. In the current regulation mode, the device sources the required current through a high power level PFET switch when needed and regulates the current to the desired level. The reference voltage is provided internally on the IC by a dedicated control loop. For PWM dimming control, SD pin is used to enable and set the desired duty cycle while SEL pin selects the mode of operation.
