Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs) is one of the most widely used evaluation board that provides a complete, integrated system for analog-to-digital data acquisition and analysis. The ADC board helps to display, process and control signals via digital-to-analog converters (DACs) and provides a wide array of applications in communication systems, audio and video production, and industrial control systems. One such ADC evaluation board is the CRD5381.
The CRD5381 evaluation board utilizes a 16-bit, 5 Msample/s, adjustable-speed interleaved ADCs for data acquisition. It is also able to output a variety of data formats, including standard single-ended, differential, I2S and TDM (Time Division Multiplexing). The board features two independent, high-speed DACs with full 24-bit resolution and a variable-speed flexible timing interface. The timing component includes a clock source, configurable over four interleaved ADCs and two DACs providing the ability to sample data at up to 5MS/s. Additionally, the board can provide a synchronization mechanism to achieve synchronization between multiple evaluation boards.
The CRD5381 evaluation board is also capable of producing frequency-domain spectrograms for frequency analysis and modulation analysis of data signals. The spectrogram is a time-dependent frequency representation of an incoming signal, which is used as a channel for level and modulation analysis. The board can also produce you resolution burst spectrograms to capture, display and investigate the non-stationary characteristics of a signal.
In terms of applications, the board is suitable for both test and measurement activities as well as for development and production of industrial systems. It is perfect for signal monitoring and analysis applications, such as communications, broadcast & audio, test & measurement, medical, industrial control, and consumer applications. Moreover, the board is capable of driving electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection modules, enabling efficient protection of data lines from ESD attacks.
The CRD5381 evaluation board also comes with a comprehensive Windows 8 software application that makes evaluation, operation and development easier and more efficient. The software includes user interface, drivers, libraries and utilities to test signal performance quickly and accurately. It also enables remote field bus monitoring and configuration of the evaluation board.
