CS47L15-CWZR is a low-power, low-noise, high-definition audio CODECs, which is a collaboration between Cirrus and Wolfson. It is capabale of working on different sampling rate, such as 44.1KHz, 48KHz, 88.2KHz and 96KHz, offering a wide range of sample rates for various applications.

CS47L15-CWZR is designed for a wide range of applications, such as automotive, home theater system, portable multimedia devices, wireless audio systems, digital TVs with high-definition audio, gaming consoles and so on.

It offers support for digital microphones, with a digital mic signal range from -36dBFS to 0dBFS. Therefore, it can provide more accurate signal when capturing voice and ambient sound recording.

In order to fully utilize CS47L15-CWZR’s capabilities, the CODEC provides different kinds of working modes, including Line-In mode, MIC-In/24-bit mode, and Bypass mode.

Line-In Mode

In the Line-In mode, the CODEC bypasses the analog-to-digital conversion / digital-to-analog conversion, and accepts 44.1/48KHz audio signal at the INPDP_L,INPDP_R pins and outputs 44.1/48KHz audio signal at the OUTDP_L,OUTDP_R pins. This mode is suitable for devices which have their own A/D and D/A converters and need to process digital audio signal.

MIC-In/24-bit Mode

In the MIC-In/24-bit mode, the CODEC implements digital-to-analog conversion and analog-to-digital conversion for audio signal at the SMALC pins, with a sampling rate range from 8KHz to 48KHz. It is suitable for devices with 24-bit wide analog components.

Bypass Mode

In the Bypass mode, the CODEC completely eliminates the digital processing of audio signal, thus enabling the input and output pins of the CODEC to directly bypass each other. This mode is suitable for devices that need absolute performance and low power consumption.
