The CS8952-CQZ is a low cost isolated transceiver type in OptoMOS family of devices. They offer sheilding for electrical noise susceptibility and support for high data rate applications. Working Principle

The CS8952-CQZ is an optically coupled circuit that uses a LED emitting light and a Photodiode, to transmit a digital signal from one side to the other. The LED sends light, which the photodiode capture, converts the light energy into electrical energy and sends it to the output. This isolated transceiver, acts as a driver and receiver, allowing transmission of data bidirectionally. The CS8952-CQZ also supports long channel lengths, multiple channel configurations and direct interface with standard logic types, which makes it ideal to be used as a signal transmission over long distances.

The CS8952-CQZ includes both a PIN-photodiode and a Internal Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA). The TIA section consists of four components: an Amplifier, Lower Pass Band Filter, Upper Pass Band Filter and Termination resistor. The Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) converts current input to voltages output. The transimpedance is specified for a particular TIA, it defines the level of current to voltage conversion. The gain is determined by resistor selection, one can increase it by selection higher value of resistor. The PIN-photodiode and internal TIA, help with signal intensity and also filter noise signals in the line.

The CS8952-CQZ supports a wide range of data rate from DC to 40Mbits/second can be achieved. It provides quality signal integrity over greater distances with transmission rates up to 40 Mbits/second. The wide bandwidth allows transmission of multiple channels in parallel.
