- ,,)Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) are electronic oscillators that are used in a variety of applications from wireless communication systems to biological sensing systems. The CVCO55BE-2475-2900 is a high-frequency, voltage-controlled oscillator designed for use in frequency-agile, low-noise, high-efficiency modern applications. This oscillator is a two-stage, integrated VCO that offers excellent performance across a plethora of frequency ranges. It operates over wide frequency range of 2475 to 2900 MHz and has a very low phase noise of -96 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset.
The CVCO55BE-2475-2900 offers low DC voltage control and supports both linear and logarithmic voltage tuning. It offers a 25 MHz tuning range and power supply range from 0.6 to 4.6 Volts. The high-frequency range of the oscillator allows it to be used in multiple wireless communication applications such as LTE, Wi-Fi, WLAN and Bluetooth. The oscillator can also be used for sensing applications due to its linearity and frequency switching capability in a very short period of time.
Working Principle
Voltage Controlled Oscillators like CVCO55BE-2475-2900 use the principles of Colpitts oscillator and the Hartley Oscillators to generate a sine wave output. These oscillators consist of an amplifier, a voltage-controlled device, and a tuned circuit. The amplifier is a nonlinear component that provides gain and determines the quality of the output wave. The voltage-controlled device acts as a converter that is capable of changing the output frequency according to the voltage level. The tuned circuit consists of an LC network and is capable of filtering out interference.
When a DC voltage is applied to the voltage-controlled device, it changes the frequency of the oscillator.
