D2S-01L13-FD Application Field & Working Principle

The D2S-01L13-FD is a snap action, limit switch from Grayhill, Inc. This type of switch is designed to open and close an electrical circuit as a switch mechanism.

This particular switch is an ideal solution for applications that require simple, low-cost and long life switch solutions, such as with industrial conveyors, automated vehicles, energy management systems and most commonly, automation control systems.

The switch itself is designed with a plunger rod with a roller bearing mounted internally and the end of the rod connected to a palm button on the exterior. When pressure is applied to the palm button, the roller bearing causes the internal plunger rod to depress and in turn, actuates the contact and opens/closes the switch. This movement also opens and closes the electrical contacts and helps to prohibit damage from shock, vibration and external environmental conditions.

The D2S-01L13-FD provides contact ratings up to 15A, 240V AC/DC and has a nominal operating force of 250gF. It also has a mechanical life of 10,000 cycles and an operating temperature range from -20°C to +85°C. Furthermore, the switch is UL, CUL and CE approved for safety and reliability.

The D2S-01L13-FD has a variety of possible mounting options including bracket mounts, panel mounts, and 2 and 4-hole mounting options. The brackets are usually included in the package, however, the other mounting options must be purchased separately depending on the application.

The device is relatively easy to install and offers reliable operation in even in harsh environments. It is highly reliable and complies with most industry standards, making it a great choice for safety applications with a low cost.
