The D3066 signal relay is a DC signal relay designed to switch small electrical currents of up to two amps. It is found in applications ranging from industrial controllers to home appliances, typically used to instantly interrupt or restart electrical circuits. The relay is roughly the size of a compact disc case and features a small coil and a contact which are the main components in any relay. The coil is composed of copper wire and acts as an induction coil, magnetically activating the contact.

When the coil is magnetically activated, the contact opens and then closes, instantly interrupting the electrical current flowing through the circuit.
