Signal relays are electrical components designed to control electrical circuits with low power signals. They allow a low power signal to control a large variety of electrical circuits. Especially designed for low current applications, signal relays are capable of controlling up to 2 amps. These relays open and close electrical circuits, minimise energy losses and reduce electrical noise.D3402 signal relays belong to the signal relay family and are generally used in combination with host process control systems, such as PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. These signals can also be used in continuous, intermittent, differential, or isolated applications. The D3402 signal relay is a universally accepted standard micro-electronic control relay. It is typically used in almost all industrial applications, where digital or analog signals are required to control or monitor the operation of various process. It is mainly used for controlling linear actuators, valves, pumps, valves, motors, and robotic arms. The D3402 signal relay can also be used to sense temperature or pressure in hazardous locations, high or low level alarms, as well as, start and stop of machinery. This relay is a compact, miniature signal relay offering solid-state reliability and is available in a wide variety of models with various control functions and features.The D3402 signal relay has a simple circuit that turns the output on or off, depending on the input signal. It is configured with an electromagnetic coil winding, contact points and a spool spring. The coil winding demands very low current drive, typically from 4mA to 12mA for full actuation. It’s normally a DPDT (Double-pole, double-throw) relay and carries a maximum current of 2 amps.The D3402 signal relay has a simple working principle, allowing the coil winding to open and close the contact points when the input signal is moved from one point to the other. The coil winding is the main part of the signal relay and is responsible for creating an electromagnet. When the input signal is activated, the electromagnet is generated due to current flow in the coil winding, and it moves the common contact point or \'armature\' from the normally-closed point to the normally-open point.
