The precision-machined inner and outer conductor shells accommodate eight to twenty-six discrete contacts, providing optimum performance in permanent-mounted applications and in programmable-deployment systems. The product is designed to suit the exact application, with the ability to withstand up to 435 lbs of axial pull-out force. Each of the component parts are precision-machined from high-strength aluminium alloys and stainless steel, providing superior EMI shielding and thermal management capability. The D38999/24FB4PB is qualified to MIL-DTL-38999 Series III electrical and mechanical specifications, and many of the connector components are compliant with the US Environmental Protection Agency requirements for RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive. To ensure the integrity of the interconnect system, the contacts are extremely rigid and can withstand vibration and extreme shock.
