Evaluation Boards - Digital to Analog Converters (DACs) play an important role in various applications
The DAC60096EVM evaluation module (EVM) from Texas Instruments is one such board commonly used in various applications like audio, industrial, and energy. It is designed to evaluate the features of and provides easy access to the 6-channel, 12-bit DAC60096 digital-to-analog converter (DAC). The EVM provides an easy to use Windows-based GUI to set up the operating parameters of the DAC60096. It also provides a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) that sets the output level of the DAC. The PGA is connected to the D/A converters so that the same gain can be applied to both input signals independently. The PGA provides an adjustable gain range of +12dB to - 3.9dB.
The DAC60096EVM boards provide user selectable reference voltages for each channel. Each channel can be configured for either a 0-3.3V or 0-1.5V analog output range. This feature allows multiple signals to be combined on the same board. The board also has adjustable digital low-pass filters that allow for simple high-pass, band-pass, and low-pass filter set-up.
The DAC60096 has on-chip power switches that can be used to switch between different power supply voltages.
