Diodes, and consequently those of the bridge rectifier type, are used in the DC power supply of most electronic appliances and systems. A bridge rectifier is an electronic circuit which converts AC (alternating current) input into DC (direct current) output, using four or more diodes with the output being taken from the anode or cathode connections of these diodes.
