DBM25PK75 is a kind of D-sub connector. It is a low cost, 2-row connector with a design including two parallel rows of contact terminations formed in three steps: crimp, solder, and PC Tail, in order to provide high frequency characteristics and maintain good mechanical integrity and reliability. These connectors are designed to meet the demanding requirements of military and aviation applications for low cost, high current, and high frequency applications. They are suitable for use in a variety of applications such as power, communication, and data transfer systems.
DBM25PK75 connectors feature Male and Female mating connectors installed with 25pins possible in each connector. The contact terminal size of Male DBM25PK75 is 1.2×1.6 mm, and Female DBM25PK75’s size is 1.8×2.6 mm. Its mount diameter is 14.3 mm, and the mating height is 9.4 mm, making it low profile and compact for PCB mount applications. Besides, its thickness of inserted connector is 7.7mm and connector width is 19.2mm. The most important point is it has an impedance of 50 ohm, can work at maximum frequencies up to 700MHz.
The materials of DBM25PK75 are selected for their respective properties. Contacts are machined from solid brass rod, and provided with tin-plated finish. Contact spacing is 2.54 mm (0.100 inch). For additional strength and stability, contact housings are machined from PPO Plastic with glass-fiber. Additionally, the contact holders are made of stainless steel for increased strength and durability.
The DBM25PK75’s working principle is simple. It is constructed with a two-row arrangement of contacts, with each row containing 25 contacts. The connector has two polarization keys that prevent accidental connection to other types of connector. The mating face of the connector includes guides that ensure the correct orientation of the mating connectors. Dual beam contacts are used to enhance connection reliability, as well as reduce electrical resistance and improve the accuracy of the connection. The contacts are soldered on to the circuit board with a special soldering technique called \'Z-axis soldering\', which is able to provide a strong low-resistance connection.
