DC1364A-B is one of the numerous evaluation and demonstration boards and kits developed and developed by Analog Devices Inc. It can be used for testing and demonstrating various analog and digital circuits and devices that can interface with a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and analog-to-digital converter (ADC). DC1364A-B is based on the AD7276 8-bit, dual, simultaneous-sampling, voltage-output DAC and the AD9226 16-bit, 1 Msps, dual-channel, voltage-output ADC. The board can be powered by either a USB connector or a 3V external power supply, and includes an onboard PC/104 Expansion bus.DC1364A-B board includes eight buffered analog output channels, eight buffered analog-input channels, two MS-LINK ports, and a power-supply monitoring circuit. Each buffered analog output consists of two voltage-output DACs with four ranges of scaling (25, 50, and 200mV) for each channel. Buffered analog-input channels consist of two differential or four single-ended, 16-bit ADC with two to five ranges of scaling (25, 50, and 200mV) for each channel. The ADC accepts input voltages in the range of -2V to +2V. It has programmable gain and offset settings which helps to reduce signal noise and to establish a reference level. The instrument includes a “Programmable Filter” feature that allows the user to control signal frequencies with a wide range of bandwidths. The MS-LINK ports are used for communication between the board and the PC.In order to demonstrate the DC1364A-B board, a set of on-board connections for power and device programming are provided. The board can be powered from the 3V external power supply or from the USB connector. The programming of the board is accomplished by a software program running on a PC. This software allows the user to control the settings of the board such as sample rate, gain, offset, and frequency response. The data collected from the board can be analyzed and displayed on the screen in a graphical form.
