DC2422A-C is a high efficiency, cost effective evaluation board for off-line AC-DC and DC-DC switching power supplies. It comes in a 5.5 x 4.5 cm intri board form factor, and is specially designed for off-line power supply evaluation purposes. With excellent short-circuit and overload protection, it can handle up to 4A load and supports wide input voltage of 110-230V AC.

The working principle of DC2422A-C evaluation board is simple. It uses a resonant semi-bridge converter based on a standard full-bridge converter circuit topology. The full-bridge converter consists of four switches - two main switches M1 and M2 and two synchronous rectifiers SR1 and SR2. The main switch M1 is connected to the primary side of the transformer with the positive terminal voltage of Vdd. The other switch M2 is connected to the negative terminal voltage of Vdd. SR1 and SR2 are connected with the transformer secondary output and they act as synchronous rectifiers to convert the AC voltage to DC and provide an output at the level of the applied input voltage.

The input voltage is converted into a pulsating dc voltage when the switches M1 and M2 are toggled. This voltage is rectified by the synchronous rectifiers SR1 and SR2 and results in a full wave rectified output voltage. The output voltage is further filtered and regulated using the output voltage regulator circuit. The regulator circuit consists of an opto-coupler and MOSFET which ensures proper regulation of the output voltage.

The DC2422A-C evaluation board also offers flexibility in terms of input and output operation. It supports an input voltage range of 110 V-230V ACrms and a output power from 0.5W to 4W. The efficiency of the converter is up to 93%, and there’s no-load power consumption of less than 0.2W. It also features a soft start circuit and an oscillator frequency of 500KHz.

The DC2422A-C evaluation board is designed for quick and easy evaluation of the performance of off-line AC-DC and DC-DC switching power supplies. With its daughter board, the evaluation board supports wide range of applications in aerospace, automotive, medical, and industrial equipment.
