The DC37PU is a Sub-Miniature D-sub connector manufactured by Tyco Electronics, a global leader and innovator of electrical and electronic components. Sub-Miniature D-sub connectors, or D-subs as they are commonly referred to, are a type of electrical connector used in a wide variety of applications. Once the keys on the male side and the latches on the female side are engaged, it takes a rotation of the male connector to unlock the two parts. In this way, the DC37PU provides an easy, but secure connection.

In addition to the latching solution, the DC37PU also features a strain relief feature. This is designed to be used in conjunction with a cable clamp whereby the strain created by the clamp is transferred to the strain relief instead of directly onto the electrical contacts. This provides an additional layer of security to the interconnect and helps to reduce the stress on the connections, further improving the durability and longevity of the DC37PU.
