The DC488A evaluation board is an integrated off-line switched-mode power supply module (SMPS) developed by Texas Instruments for applicaitons in audio power amplifiers or other power-sensitive environments. The DC488A features high performance and low power consumption over a wide range of operating conditions, making it an ideal solution for applications requiring reliable operation under a variety of input and load demands.

The DC488A is designed to operate from a single 12V DC input power source. When the output voltage falls below the set point, the control circuit turns on the transistor and allows a regulated current to flow in the primary winding.
