Application Field:

DC542A is an evaluation board designed to be used in the evaluation of off-line surface mount (SMT) DC/DC and AC/DC power converters. It is a compact board that comes equipped with a high-efficiency, low-cost dc/dc power supply with both regulated and unregulated outputs, which makes it suitable for a variety of smps design application. It features an integrated current sense transformer, integrated power MOSFETs and a wide range of control, monitoring, and programming features.

Working Principle:

The DC542A is a very versatile platform for evaluation of off-line smt power supplies. In its simplest form, the board works as a traditional dc/dc converter with unregulated primary and secondary outputs. With its integrated components, the output voltage can be regulated with both resistive and PWM-type feedback control circuits, allowing for the creation of robust, high-performance designs. In addition, the board’s current sense transformer and high-efficiency power MOSFETs enable the design of a standalone power supply, as well as providing the capability to create highly efficient and cost-effective mixed-mode configurations.

The dc/dc converter of the DC542A is based on a zero-current-switching topology that ensures the maximum efficiency in a variety of application and has a very high degree of integration.
