DC553A Evaluation Board - DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS

DC553A evaluation board is a dual-mode switch mode power supply evaluation board designed for evaluating wide input line voltage range, synchronous rectified, AC/DC, DC/DC converters for single output applications. The design is optimized for quick product evaluation and circuit optimization. The two different operating modes are suitable for various AC/DC and DC/DC applications.

The board features two different rectifiers, the primary side full-bridge FET/diode rectifier circuit and the secondary side synchronous MOSFET rectifier diode bridge. Additionally, the board includes an onboard transformer to accommodate both AC/DC and DC/DC applications. The design also includes various protection features, such as overvoltage, overcurrent, overtemperature, undervoltage, and short protection circuits, as well as a testing coil to measure the output voltage ripple.

The board also provides multiple output voltage levels, adjustable vias onboard potentiometers. Output voltage levels range from 0.1V to 20V, with a maximum continuous current rating of 15A. It also features a selectable input ranging from 115V to 240V AC.

The evaluation board is easy to use; simply connect an AC or DC power supply, adjust the potentiometers for the desired output voltage, and power on the board. An onboard oscilloscope test point allows for easy monitoring of the output ripple voltage. Additionally, the board comes with an onboard voltage monitor which measures the output voltage even during power cycles, giving engineers additional flexibility in testing their designs.

In AC/DC applications, the board allows for input average power up to 600 Watts peak or continuous power when the input line voltage is between 200V-240V. In DC/DC applications, the board supports input peak power up to 500 Watt.
