In each application, it will work to ensure that temperatures line up with the manufacturer’s specified temperatures; reduce the power dissipation of the component; eliminate the overheating of component; extend - the lifetime of the device; and provide silent operation.The DHS-B9090-44A Thermal - Heat Sinks consists of four main components: heat sink base material, heat pipes, thermal interface material (TIM) and a fan. The base material is made from a high grade aluminum which provides a low thermal resistance for improved thermal efficiency and heat dissipation. The heat pipes extend from the base in a \'fan shape\' and are soldered to the base with a special high-temperature solder. The TIM is placed between the heat pipes and the device that is being cooled, which fills any gaps and allows for greater contact area between the two components. The fan helps to remove any additional heat from the heat pipes to ensure maximum performance and reduce noise levels.The DHS-B9090-44A works through a process of thermal transfer. The heat produced by the device is conducted through the thermal interface material to the base of the heat sink. The heat then travels up the heat pipes and is dispersed into the surrounding air; the fan then helps to remove the air and dissipate the heat faster. This process is known as convective cooling.
