Panel meters are a type of meters often used in our daily life, which are widely used in a variety of fields. The DMS-20ACV-3-G-C is a type of panel meter which is frequently used in industrial process operations for monitoring, making decisions and controlling applications. Here we will discuss its application field and working principle.

Application Field

The DMS-20ACV-3-G-C panel meter is a three-phase, high capacity digital Voltmeter and Power Analyzer, specifically designed for power quality applications requiring high accuracy and reliability; a digital real time power analysis instrument for analyzing phase-to-phase, phase-to-ground or three-phase electrical parameters. It can be used in a variety of industries for various power quality related purposes such as phase failure, phase reversal protection, phase unbalance, over-voltage, over-current, over-load, power factor, reactive energy and active energy monitoring. The meter is designed to be installed in a standard DIN-rail board.

This panel meter is also used for displaying power values, energy values, as well as time-related information in many development and testing projects. It is ideal for power distribution systems, industrial environments, renewable energy systems, electrical motor control and other commercial, industrial or fleet applications.

Working Principle

The working principle of the DMS-20ACV-3-G-C Panel Meter is based on its input sensors, which measure voltage and current signals, and its processing unit, which calculates information related to power, energy and time. The meter receives input signals from three current transformers (CTs) and three voltage transformers (VTs). The CTs and VTs convert current and voltage signals from the power system into proportional signals. The current transformers measure the current, and the voltage transformers measure the voltage of the power system.

The current and voltage signals are transmitted to the processing unit, where they are converted into digital signals, and are used for calculation and analysis. This unit also receives time signals from the system\'s time base, and is used for calculating power, energy and time related information.

The processing unit, based on the input data, performs various calculations such as active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor, active energy, reactive energy and time based information. It then sends the calculated information to the display. The meter has a 3.5 inch LCD display, which is capable of displaying all the information related to power, energy and time in an easy-to-read graphical format.

The DMS-20ACV-3-G-C Panel Meter is thus an industrial panel meter specially designed for power quality monitoring in a variety of applications. The meter is used for analyzing various power quality parameters such as phase failure, phase reversal protection, phase unbalance, over-voltage, over-current, over-load, power factor, reactive energy and active energy. It receives inputs from current and voltage transformers, and processes them to obtain power, energy and time related information, which are displayed on its LCD display.
