Working Principle

DMS-30LCDA-4/20B-C panel meter works on the principle of combining meter movement, shielded circuitry, calibration control, and a display into one package. It also provide a variety of indication that range from basic analog indicators to digital indicators. Meter movement consists of a magnetic drives which are operated using a permanent magnet. This magnetic drive helps in the rotational movement of the rotor. The rotor is linked to the meter mechanism which enables it to rotate. The mechanical movement is electrically isolated from the power source and the meter movement is operated by the magnetic drive. This is usually a 3-phase voltage source having different voltage amplitudes and frequencies applied to the meter.

Furthermore, the calibration control helps in adjusting the meter to the required accuracy. The calibration control is applied to the balanced meter circuitry when it is ready for calibration. After calibration the meter is then tested to ensure its accuracy. The displayed figure is usually based on the amount of electrical power, current or voltage. As the power, voltage and current increases the meter moves in the appropriate direction, and when it reaches the specified reading the meter stops.

Additionally, the shielding circuitry helps in the prevention of stray signals which interferes with or disrupts the meter movement. This shielding circuitry also prevents false measurements, thus ensuring accurate readings.
