DP130DSEVM Application Field and Working Principle
DP130DSEVM is an evaluation and demonstration board and kit designed by Texas Instruments. It is specially used to evaluate and demonstrate the power conversion solution of Taipower F3 series. The operating principle is straightforward but extremely complex.The kit consists of an evaluation board and a simulation module. The evaluation board includes buttons, jumpers, serial port to USB, a DC digital power supply, and a wide range of peripheral circuit components. The simulation module is connected to the evaluation board via signals. It is a powerful tool for powering the evaluation board and controlling the peripheral functions. The working principle of the DP130DSEVM is based on a closed-loop control system. The closed-loop control system consists of two main components: the power stage and the control stage. The power stage is composed of a power stage matrix, a synchronous rectifier IC, a converter IC, and a controller IC. This combination will convert the input AC power into the desired voltage and current output. The power stage works through two control mechanisms, namely, pulse width modulation (PWM) and switch configuration. PWM is used to control the power output of the converter IC. A timing signal generated by the controller IC will operate the switch configuration to control the timing and output of the power stage. The control stage consists of an analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and a programmable logic array (PLA). The ADC will sample the desired value set by the user and convert it into a digital value. The DAC will then process the digital value to create the appropriate analog value and sent it to the converter IC. The PLA will then be used to control the timing sequence of the power stage.
