Data Acquisition - Digital Potentiometers

Digital potentiometers (DPTs) are an important type of data acquisition and control device. As the name implies, they offer an electrical switch-like keypad control to adjust a device\'s parameters. At the heart of a digital potentiometer is a non-volatile solid-state resistance element, or digital potentiometer. This solid-state element is a voltage divider where, depending upon the relative resistances of two fixed components, the voltage can be divided in a range of ratios. A digital potentiometer may be a single-ended device, where the active resistance element is connected at one end only, or a differential device, where the active resistance element is connected at both ends.The DS1809-010 is a single-ended digital potentiometer.
