The DS2430AP is a one-wire 1024-bit, electrically programmable and erasable read-only memory (EEPROM) and is part of the Dallas Semiconductor family of products. EEPROMs are non-volatile memory devices, meaning that data will not be lost when the power source is disconnected. Although the device has 1024 bits of storage and is packaged in a 1-Wire 8-pin device, the device is not exactly a standard EEPROM component.

The DS2430AP, first announced in 2010, features the ability to write data without the need for external erase signals, which greatly simplifies the design process for customers. In addition, by using a write only operation, a single device can be used for non-volatile storage, saving pins and board space compared to a standard EEPROM.
