()DS26503LN+ devices are precision voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) devices designed for use in a variety of frequency clock and timing applications, as well as pulse and data communication applications. The device is ideal for applications where low jitter and low-power operation is necessary, such as in communications timing and reference source applications.
The DS26503LN+ provides a wide range of input voltage control with a 10 kΩ pull-up resistor connected to the 2783 pin. When a low frequency clock signal is input on the 2783 pin, the voltage on this pin increments with increasing frequency. The output frequency can be then adjusted by adjusting the external voltage control pin.
The device provides fast locking times and low so-called “no-lock” time, which is a measure of the time it takes for the device to be able to correctly lock onto an incoming signal. This time is kept to a minimum to ensure correct and stable operation.
In addition, the device is designed to provide a very clean output frequency that can be as low as a few hertz to as high as several hundred megahertz. This allows the device to be used in a wide variety of applications such as digital television systems, communication links, and more. The device is also designed to be very power efficient, requiring a mere 6 mA @ 5V supply current.
