DS26528 Application Field and Working Principle
The DS26528 differential line transceiver is one of Dallas Semiconductors\' popular interface devices. It is designed to xommunicate information between two point-to-point devices or between a system and its external environment. The DS26528 is part of a family of high-speed, low to medium power line xommunication transceivers. The DS26528 offers a low power solution and is designed to bridge digital and audio xommunications.
Application Field
The DS26528 is suitable for applications that require a transmitter capable of achieving rates up to 352 Mbps at VCC levels of 1.8V to 5.5V. It can provide a medium-speed differential line xommunication link solution to bridge the xommunication gap between digital and audio xommunication. Between these two point-to-point devices, it enables a xommunication rate up to 32 Mbps, with a tuxedo-type differential signaling line. The differencing technique provides a high-speed data transmission rate and a common-mode rejection up to 45 dB for applications that need to xommulate a larger signal dynamic range.
Other applications include digital TVs, car audio and communication systems, modems, and digital radio broadcast equipment, backplane communication, automotive and airflo applications. As the DS26528 supports multipoint operation, it can be used in applications requiring multiple nodes connected to the same line.
Working Principle
The DS26528 is a full-duplex, differential line transceiver. It is composed of a transmitter, a receiver, and an optional termination resistor. The transmitter includes two differential drivers and two adjustable current sources for line and load xommunication. The drivers are controlled by the logic inputs of the xommunication line, which allows the transceivers to achieve low-voltage xommunication up to 352 Mbps. The output of the drivers is a differential line and can be balanced using the on-chip terminator.
The receiver is designed to detect the differential signals on the line and convert them into logic signals. It is designed to operate in a high-speed mode and provides good common-mode rejection, making it a suitable choice for line xommunication applications.
The DS26528 also includes an optional terminating resistor to ensure that the line is synchronized for xommunication and to reduce reflections on the line.
