DS3150Q+T&R Application Field and Working Principle
DS-3150Q+T&R technology is an intelligent, high-performance wide area network (WAN) that offers a layer 2 access solution to users. It allows clients to easily manage and extend their data networks over long distances. DS-3150Q+T&R allows a combination of Fibre or Wireless transport services to carry voice, video, and data traffic. It is designed to support applications including storage area networks (SANs), wide area networks (WANs), Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) and Wide Area Virtual Private Networks (WAVPNs).
DS-3150Q+T&R implements an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) system to connect multiple geographically dispersed locations. ATM is a packet-switched, connection-oriented technology with guaranteed quality of service (QoS). Asynchronous transfer mode is based on switching of cells, which are self-contained packets with fixed length, giving greater flexibility and efficient use of network bandwidth. The ATM cell is composed of 53 bytes, of which 53 bytes contain header and trailer information.
When using this technology, the initial connection of the network to the user\'s premises is provided by the WAN and the connection is made to the user\'s remote device through a VLAN. The user is able to pre-configure the topology of the WAN to provide services when required. This can be done through the service provider\'s portal or by a system administrator.
The WAN can use a variety of protocols to transmit data such as IP, Frame Relay, and ATM. The WAN also provides various management and security features such as firewall, intrusion detection and prevention, user authentication, and encryption to ensure the security of data being transmitted. The user\'s remote device can be connected to the WAN by either wired or wireless connectivity.
DS-3150Q+T&R also provides an environment for application integration. This can be achieved through the use of multiple protocols such as IP, Frame Relay and ATM. This integration allows applications to be integrated into the network and reduces complexity while providing the necessary functionality. This integration can be further enhanced by the use of QoS mechanisms such as DiffServ and Resilient Packet Ring (RP).
The solution also enables the user to choose the type of transport service they require. This can be either IP-based or Frame Relay or both, depending on the application requirements. Furthermore, users are also able to configure a private virtual local area network (VLAN) to improve the performance of their applications. This feature allows for a more secure and efficient transfer of data, as well as the management and control of the traffic.
