The DS3151NB1 is a multiplex and demultiplex device for transmission system or terminal equipment applications. It is an integrated equalize, clock recovery, multiple equip and demultiplex chip which is normally used as line side and system side device in telecoms infrastructure. It provides two 130-bit data buses: one line-side bus and one system side bus, each with its own clock. Both buses can operate in differential and single-ended mode and are compatible with X.21, RS-530, V.11 and V.35 interfaces. It is a high-speed, low-power, single-chip solution that supports up to 32 Mbps data rate throughput, and operates over a wide range of temperatures.The DS3151NB1 application field is generally used for telecoms and datacom applications. It can be used as a line side transceiver for Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) or Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) protocols. It can also be used for time division multiplexing in Digital Cross Connect Systems (DCS) such as Time-Division Multiple Access (TDMA), Frequency-Division Multiple Access (FDMA), or Code-Division Multiple Access (CDMA). The DS3151NB1 working principle involves the use of two 130-bit buses which can be set to operate in multiplex or demultiplex mode. The two buses are connected by a high-speed transmitter/receiver pair and a control circuit. In multiplex mode, the first bus transmits data received from the network side to the device side at a maximum rate of 32 Mbps. The second bus is used for demultiplexing the data which is then transferred to the network side. In demultiplex mode, the data is sent from the device side to the network side, and the second bus is used for multiplexing.The DS3151NB1 also includes a clock recovery circuit that generates the necessary system clocks at both the device side and the network side.
