DS90LV031ATM is a 0.5-V single non-inverting TTL data line signal translator. It provides a very low-voltage signal translation to and from single non-inverting TTL data line signals and is ideal for applications requiring very low supply voltages such as microcontroller or ASIC signal-level translation in battery-operated systems. DS90LV031ATM is designed to meet the Industry Standard TTL (JEDEC) and CMOS signal levels and is rated for operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
Application Field
DS90LV031ATM is used in many applications such as automotive LCD displays, portable electronic devices including mp3 players and mobile phones, liquid crystal displays (LCDs), and test and measurement instrumentation. It can be used for signal-level translation between the 1.8V and 3.3V logic levels which are now commonly used for LCDs, as well as for more traditional data communication applications such as translation between the 3.3V and 5V logic levels.
Working Principle
The DS90LV031ATM is a single-channel non-inverting signal translator which is designed to meet the industry standard TTL and CMOS signal levels. It is designed to translate between the various logic levels used in different systems (1.8V, 3.3V, 5V). The signal coming in on the signal line is used to control the output line. When the signal on the signal line is high, the output line will be high. When the signal on the signal line is low, the output line will be low. The output line follows the signal coming in on the signal line, as long as the input signal is within the acceptable range.
The chip also has a push-pull enable (PE) input which allows the user to control the operation of the chip. When the PE pin is high, the output is enabled, and when the PE pin is low, the output is disabled. This allows the user to control the output state without having to change the input signal.
The chip also has two special features to enhance its performance. The first is the TTL/CMOS bus hold feature, which allows for greater noise immunity. This feature causes the translator to maintain its output state indefinitely if the input signal is within the noise margin. This helps ensure reliable signal transfer even in the presence of noise. The second feature is a logic reset feature, which allows the user to reset the output of the translator to the low state at any time, regardless of the state of the input signal or the state of the PE pin.
